h.m. gold medallion approx 12.8g. named to a well known motorcyclist . MCC London to Exeter run. Frederick H Brackpool served in the Royal Engineers in France. After the War ended he started a Motorcycle retailers and engineering company in Forest Hill which quickly became one of the largest dealers of motorcycles and sidecars. About 1925 Brackpool took an interest in motorcycle racing, specialising in sidecar events, and quickly became one of the most prominent riders at Crystal Palace and Layams Farm. His racing career ended in 1934 when he decided to devote more time to the business in Forest Hill.
