British Army Royal Dublin Fusilers Cap Badge - J R Gaunt Copy?

not entirely sure what to make of this one. certainly old and hard bimetal construction with maker marked slider fitting on reverse ; J.R. Gaunt London. might still be an old collectors copy so sold as seen. brass and white metal in apparently used condition. approx. 1.75" by 1.65".
