Old Toy Sheriff Star Badge V Vauxhall

not quite sure what this one relates to. an old apparently zinc based metal toy Sheriff badge. approx. 2" by 1.75" with brooch pin fitting on the reverse. V at centre looks more like a homefront V for Victory sign but I have no idea. Could be the V car logo so possibly a promotional item.
