United States US Military Government Germany Wuppertal Monorail Railway Reconstruction Medal WW2

a most unusual and very interesting US Occupation Forces Military Government award for help in the rebuilding and repairs to the famous Monorail Railway at Wuppertal Germany. The network was badly bombed by the Allies in January 1945 and repair work started in earnest under American occupation a few months later. dated on front approx 1.8" diameter with a Eastern Front medal ribbon utilised. named on reverse to a Mr A Barton. locally made in the Elberfeld district by A. Donner.
