Old Communist Party Buttonhole Lapel Badge Believed KPD

an old well used and abused probably pre WW2 brass lapel pin with buttonhole fitting. no maker marks but believed to be of German origin. approx 1" diameter. the original glaze finish is all but gone. not sure if the red has been touched up but done a long time ago if it was.
