German WW2 War Merit Cross Class 1 without Swords S&L

nazi non combat version of the War Merit Cross approx 1.85" by 1.8". maker stamp on pin looks like an upside down 4 for Steinhauer & Lück . with remains of a box thrown in. not sure if the cushioned part belongs to it. sold as is.
